So, I have a wee little squid.
This little guy is knit up from Fibershed’s dye and knit kit. You may recall I dyed the yarn *mumbles date* ago.
It was a pretty simple knit. I think I have enough yarn left to make up a second one, though he may be shy a tentacle or leg. Next time I’m going to try to alter the pattern to be knit in the round because I hate seaming. Probably because I suck at it.
While knitting, I noticed that the yarn was a touch sticky. I think that means that I didn’t rinse the yarn well enough after the dye bath. I’d like to give dying my own yarn another go, though. Maybe another technique. I’ve seen Kool Aid used and that looks pretty easy (and inexpensive). I’d also like a redo on the summer dye bath method. Fibershed sells seeds for indego and coreopsis. Maybe I can convince Mr Liu to add one of these to our spring planting.
