Victorian Insanity

I picked up the new issue of Piecework over the weekend. I really like the magazine. It features a lot of interesting traditional crafts along with patterns.

In this issue there’s a Victorian sock pattern reprinted as it was originally published. It’s a single paragraph and Faulkner-esqe in its punctuation. No pictures. No yarn type or needle size or gauge listed. The magazine is having a challenge to knit these socks.

I’m not sure where to start or where I’m supposed to end up, but I think I’ll have a go at it.

Maybe I’ll end up with cat socks.image
