A couple of weeks ago, Darkness had a UTI (on a Sunday immediately before a holiday, of course). The last time Darkness had a UTI, he also had a blocked urethra. Mr. Liu and I were concerned (and, let me tell you, it takes a lot for Mr. Liu to worry about the health of our cats), so we took him to the emergency vet. Fortunately, Darkness wasn’t blocked and he was able to come home with some pain killers and antibiotics. He was no worse for the wear, if a little bit shaved.
I, being me, brought some knitting to the emergency vet with me. I finished up a matching hat and scarf set:
The yarn I bought from ebay, from The Spin Zone store. (She’s got such pretty yarn!) The hat is ribbed near the bottom and I switched over to stockinette when I started decreasing the rounds. The scarf is a simple honeycomb pattern. I believe it’s the first hat and scarf that I’ve made in the same yarn. Novel idea, huh? There was only one problem with my finished product:
I managed to put the second tassel on the wrong point on the scarf. I’m going to claim that my worry over Darkness’ condition is the cause of such an oversight. Yeah. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
