Cal Socks Undone

Remember my Cal Monkey Socks? The mismtached toes? The different length legs? How irritated they made me? This is what I did to them:

Yup, I frogged the whole pair. No worries, though. They will be reborn:

However, in this incarnation they’ll be knit in plain stockinette. I think my lovely blue and gold yarn isn’t variegated enough (and really, how often can you say that?) to really show off how cute the monkey sock pattern is. I think I’ve got some Yarn Pirate sock yarn that would pick up the pattern beautifully.

I have enough of the Cal yarn, though, that I can make probably three more pairs of socks. I’m thinking my next Cal socks will have a little stash pocket in them. 🙂

Oh man. I’ll know I’m a real knitter when I can rip a finished project as rationally as you did our socks.
