Inaguration Day

obama

Today Barack Obama was sworn into the office of President of the United States. I can’t help but be filled with hope for the future.

I also can’t help but wonder if my friend who flew out to DC for this occasion can see anything or if she has frozen to death. She doesn’t do cold particularly well.

I feel the need to knit something patriotic today. I still have some red, white and blue yarn, so maybe an American dishcloth is in the cards for today. Or maybe these place mats:

American Flag Placemat.

(I’ve always wanted to make these for caden, a girl I “know” on a political board I frequent. I think she’d dig them.)

Today, I plan to go home, bust out some patriotic yarn, crack open a cold Sam Adams and celebrate.
