Today we stayed home from work in honor of a man who gave his life for a cause he believed in. A cause that helped make my family as well as my family of origin not just possible, but accepted in society. BabyLiu and attended El Cerrito’s annual MLK parade. We started with a pre-parade treat.
The parade started late, so we hung out for a while. We still had donut holes and some of the neighborhood kids showed up, so it was cool.
We saw the El Cerrito marching band (pride of El Cerrito!) They played the Cal fight song, so they’re on my awesome list right now.
We saw the local girl scout troops.
And we saw the East Bay Black Cowboys. They were easily BabyLiu’s favorites. Animals always win.
The parade concluded at the High School where there was a presentation on MLK. We didn’t attend that because BabyLiu is two and doesn’t sit still. Instead we played at the park.
We hope you had a great day, too.

LOVE!
